Scary!

The house is in Chalford, near Stroud in Gloucestershire. It’s called Skaiteshill, or Ballinger House, take your pick. It dates from the early 19th century. Stayed there with some friends this weekend.

About John S

I'm blogging about the things I love: music, sport, culture, London, with some photos to illustrate aspects of our wonderful city. I’ve written a novel called “The Decision”, a futuristic political thriller, and first of a trilogy. I’m also the author of a book on music since the 1970s called “ I Was There - A Musical Journey” and a volume of poetry about youth, “Growin’ Up - Snapshots/ Fragments”. All available on Amazon and Kindle.

  1. Very, very neat shots!

We stayed earlier this month. The staircase looked particularly dangerous with spindles missing and broken spindles tacked back into place. How did you find the condition of it and the general decor?

    • John S says:

Didn’t notice any of that – though a sign saying staircase was delicate – and decor generally was very nice. Would go back. Autumn scenery was stunning.

    Those stairs look beautiful!
